Cali kicker will visit Washington this summer

A little over a month ago, there was some controversy whether Colton (Ca.) K Alejandro Maldonado had made a commitment to Washington or not. He told today that he doesn't want to make a decision until he sees Montlake and checks out the program up close and personal and if he likes what he sees in the next few weeks he could officially put his name on the Husky commit list...

"I'm not making a commitment until I see them," Maldonado told "Some people out there were putting words in my mouth, saying I committed and stuff, but I haven't done that yet. I talked with my coaches and they said I should meet with the coaches and see the campus and the school before I commit so I'm probably going up there in the next week or two to check it all out."

Maldonado said schools such as UCLA, USC, Oregon, Oregon State and Arizona State have all been in touch with him, but Washington remains his only offer.

"It's all about Washington for me," Maldonado said. "I really like the coaches I've talked with and my coaches have told me it's a great school and they have a great tradition there.

"I know I would have a chance to go in there and play early and if that's the case then that is why I like them a lot."

Maldonado said after his visit to Montlake in the next few weeks he will be ready to make his decision and we at will have it for you when that happens.

Until then, keep checking back for more information on this outstanding kicking prospect.
