James sets Husky visit

Washington got some good news on Monday when Corona RB Jordon James let them know he wanted to visit when they take on LSU on September 5th. Dawgman.com got his thoughts on things and found out why he's no longer visiting Florida and what two schools he's considering for his final official visit.

"This weekend Florida got a good running back out of Georgia (Mack Brown) and when I talked to them they said I didn't need to come down anymore," James told Dawgman.com Monday evening. "So I was thinking things over and Demetrius (Wright) told me he was going up there to check out Washington for their game against LSU and I said I think I should do the same thing."

James said he called Husky defensive backs coach Demetrice Martin this morning to give him the good news.

"He told me he was so excited he wanted to go to tackle somebody," James said. "Washington has always been at the top of my list, but this cinched it for me. I want to check them out with a packed stadium and it's a night game against a great team, so it should be a lot of fun."

Besides his visit to Washington, James will take trips to UCLA (Nov. 21st), Arizona (Nov. 7th) and Notre Dame (Oct. 17th). So with that in mind, who are the schools he's considering for his final visit

"I'm pretty sure it's going to come down to Cal and Tennessee," James said. "They both have good programs, they have energetic coaches and they have offenses that fit my style."

As a junior, James ran for 1,135 yards in five games before suffering a season-ending injury and was named First Team All-League and Honorable Mention All-County.

"I'm so excited to get started," James said. "Camp kicks off in a couple of weeks and I'm expecting a big season, especially after being injured last year."

James said he's unsure when he will schedule his final visit, but that he expects to take it before he makes a decision.
