Open Letter For Tsunami Donors

Dear Husky & Seahawk Fans - Our family is truly blessed and humbled by the outpouring of support that Seattle's sports fans displayed this past weekend. Needless to say, it was with heavy hearts and deep concern that we learned of the devastation in the wake of the tsunami that hit Samoa & American Samoa.

We anxiously awaited return phone calls and emails from family back home for nearly a day after the tsunami struck. Eventually, we were comforted as loved ones slowly sent word that they were safe.

However, others were not as fortunate. Family members sent updates about mass loss of life and severe leveling of villages to the extent of being unrecognizable. Hearing this news, we were compelled to do as we have been taught for generations; lend a helping hand to those in need. Though certain we would provide some kind of assistance, we could not have imagined that our improvised family meetings and phone calls to friends around Seattle would have resulted in raising over $30,000 for families in Samoa, American Samoa & the South Pacific Rim.

On behalf of our families and friends living in American Samoa & Samoa who were devastated by the recent tsunami and earthquake disaster, we want to express our sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU for the generosity you showed with your donations at the Husky & Seahawk games, this past weekend. We're absolutely moved with your show of support. THANK YOU!

We also want to express our deepest gratitude to AD Scott Woodward, Coach Steve Sarkesian & the University of Washington Athletic Dept, CEO Tod Leiweke, Coach Jim Mora & the Seattle Seahawks because we couldn't have accomplished any part of these fundraisers without their blessings and assistance. They went above and beyond our expectations. THANK YOU!

In addition, we're so grateful to work along side World Vision & Medical Teams International. We truly saw the compassion of their staff personnel, Reed Slattery, Laura Rodriguez, Sarah Cutter and many others in the short period of time these fundraisers came together. We're extremely impressed with the work that World Vision & Medical Teams International is currently doing around the globe. With your generous donations, we know the families in American Samoa, Samoa & the Pacific Rim can begin and continue the process of recovering & rebuilding their lives through two of the best organizations, World Vision & Medical Team International. THANK YOU!

Another invaluable part of our team was the many volunteers that we worked together with. For the Tatupu's, Aleaga's, Gabriel's, Thompson's, Elisara's, Pele's, Pulu's, Falaniko's, Toeaina's, Patu's and other fellow Samoan volunteers, we have a stake in the success of these fundraisers because each of us have family personally affected by the tsunami, but to our other volunteers, which included our friends, teammates, classmates, teachers, co-workers & neighbors, we're indebted to your unselfish devotion. We couldn't have enjoyed the success without you, THANK YOU!

We'd like to acknowledge another contributor from the Pacific NW for their generous support for the families in America Samoa & Samoa. Talking Rain Beverage donated up 8000 lbs of their bottled water to aid with the Disaster Relief efforts in Samoa. THANK YOU!

In closing, we've been so fortunate for the support you, Husky, Seahawk & Mariner fans, have given us over the years. We've experienced many great & tough times. But we feel very blessed to have played in front of the best fans here in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. We're looking forward to more exciting & memorable experiences in the seasons ahead. But we THANK YOU for your generous contributions. We praise God for your love and support. May God richly bless you and our families in American Samoa & Samoa.
