Sale keeps things in perspective

Los Alamitos (Ca.) OL Niu Sale continues to hold just one offer and the Huskies are currently in the lead for notching his services, however more and more schools have started to stand up and take notice of his overall skills. With the Griffins playoff run ahead of him, he's not too worried about recruiting at this point, but he's been mulling things over since he returned from Montlake...

"We finished 8-2 and now it's on to the playoffs," Sale told Monday night. "We've had a tough season, with some really tough opponents, but we made the playoffs which was one of our goals and now anything can happen."

Things are already happening on the recruiting front for Sale, a big, physical offensive lineman with the athleticism and strength to pull or trap with equal effectiveness.

"Washington is still my only offer and I loved my visit up there," Sale said. "Those coaches up there have things moving in the right direction and I'm confident they will get things turned around.

"I really loved meeting the coaches and talking with them. I talk to them a lot and they let me know that I am one of their top targets and someone they need to get into their program to help build it back up.

"Oregon really wants me to visit and they said they would probably offer me on my visit, but that's not for sure. Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State, Utah and a few others have also been asking me about visiting and I think I might go over to Arizona State at some point because my teammate (Shaquille Richardson) really likes them and he is visiting them soon (November 28th)."

Sale said he doesn't have a timeline for making his decision, but said he wouldn't mind having things settled before the holidays.

"Right now I'm not really sure when I will decide," Sale admitted. "I want to check out some different schools so I can compare Washington to them, but right now since they are my only offer and the school I've seen, they are probably my favorite right now.

"It's really too early for me to say I have a favorite though since I have all these other schools that I haven't even seen yet."

This weekend Sale and the rest of the Griffins will take on Long Beach Poly (5-5) in the first round of the playoffs.
