Jamora set to visit Washington soon

One of the top pass-rushers west of the Rockies this season has been Kahuku (Hi.) DE Hauoli Jamora. The past two weeks he's posted a total of 10 sacks and has helped lead his team to the state semi-finals. While he committed to BYU back in June, he's always had his eyes on what Washington has had to offer and now he's ready to set up a visit with the Husky coaching staff in the next two weeks...

"I'm still committed to BYU," Jamora told Dawgman.com Wednesday evening. "I just wanted to see some other schools and I have a great relationship with Johnny Nansen. I've known him for a while and he's a really great guy and a good coach.

"Washington has always been a school that I've liked, but I just sorta did my thing by committing to BYU. Right now you can say I'm committed to them, but things could change if I find a better fit for me."

This season Jamora has really become a pass-rushing machine and has helped lead Kahuku (11-0) to the state semi-finals where the Red Raiders will face the winner of the Farrington/Hanoka'a being held this weekend.

"We have a bye this week and then we play (on November 27th) to see who goes to the state championship game," Jamora said. "If we lose that game, then I will go up to visit Washington the first weekend of December, but if not then I will probably do it the week after that.

"I'm really excited about the playoffs. We're playing well and I think we have a great chance to win it all, but we just have to focus on our opponents so that we can play our best and not get caught up in things we can't control."

Jamora said besides Washington, he's also eying visits to Oregon State and Arizona as well, but he said the first things first, he wants to win state.

"Some people never get the chance to do this, so it's special and that's really where I'm focused," Jamora said. "After we're done, then I will focus on recruiting and I've got some decisions to make once that happens."

We'll check in with Jamora in the next few weeks to see when he plans to be on Montlake, but from the sounds of it he will make his visit sometime before the holidays.
