Huskies get a good one in Lyons

Washington has been quick to offer some of the top playmakers out of California and it appears that early interest has resulted in another commitment, this one coming from Dorsey (Los Angeles) LB/S Matthew Lyons who has made the trek north to watch the Husky spring game on Friday night.

Dawgman.com was able to confirm with at least two sources close to the situation that Lyons committed shortly after sitting down with the Husky coaching staff this evening.

The talented defender was a beast for Dorsey last fall, totaling 135 tackles, six fumble recoveries, three sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and a touchdown for a team that went 9-4 and could have several more D-1 recruits before the 2011 class signs next February.

Lyons joins Stanwood (Wa.) OL Dexter Charles, Archbishop Murphy (Everett, Wa.) DL Taniela Tupou, Long Beach (Ca.) Poly CB Kameron Jackson, Walnut (Ca.) TE/DE Aubrey Coleman, Paramount (Ca.) OL/DL Maataua Brown, Norwalk (Ca.) FB Elijhaa Penny, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) S Evan Zeger and Central East (Fresno) RB Brendon Bigelow as commitments to Washington's 2011 recruiting class.

We'll have more from Lyons as soon as he is off campus in order to get his thoughts on things and how his visit went.
