Shelton and family enjoy day at Montlake

While several of the Washington assistant coaches are out on the road recruiting, on Saturday the few that were left in town played host to Auburn (Wa.) DT Danny Shelton and his family, giving them a tour of the facilities and a chance for the talented lineman's mother to sit down with the coaches...

"We had a really good time," Shelton told Saturday afternoon. "We went up there and got a tour of the campus and the facilities and then we got to sit down with the coaches and talk to them.

"My mom set the whole thing up because she really wanted to meet the coaches and I think she and my uncle definitely came away impressed with things."

Shelton said the urge to commit while he was on campus was there, but he is determined to see some other schools before he makes his decision on where he wants to play his college football.

"Washington is definitely my favorite; I think you could say that," Shelton said. "Washington is definitely my mom and uncle's favorite.

"I definitely thought about committing, but I really want to see some other schools and their campuses and meet with those coaches too. I think I'll probably do that this summer, but I haven't set anything up."

Included in his list of schools he wants to see are Oregon, Oregon State and possibly Cal and Stanford as well as Washington State -- all have offered.

"This summer I'm not sure if I'll go to any camps or not," Shelton said. "I was at Washington's line camp last year and I learned a lot, but I'm not sure if I'll make it up for it this year.

"I'm still sorta working on a schedule of things, but I'm sure I want to see some more schools so I can compare things before I make my decision."

We'll check back with Shelton in the coming weeks and update news as it breaks.
