Huskies will get official visit from McClure

Vista (Ca.) CB Stefan McClure continues to be one of the more sought-after recruits on the west coast, hauling in two more offers this past week. Dawgman.com spoke with the talented DB over the weekend and he told us he is planning to set up an official visit with Washington very soon...

"I just spoke with coach (Demetrice) Martin last week and he and I talked about me taking my official visit up there," McClure said. "I actually just emailed him (Sunday) morning and told him which games I'd like to go to and I think we'll talk this week or real soon to set it up.

"We talked about the Nebraska game or the UCLA game. I know the UCLA game is on a Thursday night, but that is my bye week so it shouldn't be a problem for me to come up there and see the school and the campus.

"I think it would be a great atmosphere because of ESPN being there and it's going to be a night game, and I guess that place really gets crazy for the night games."

McClure continues to be one of the hottest commodities on the west coast, adding two more offers to the eight he already had.

"Oregon and Arizona just came in last week," McClure said. "I've got 10 offers and I think I might get a couple more after I go to some camps next month."

McClure said he had hoped to head north to participate in Washington's camp and to take an unofficial visit in June, but finances and his schedule aren't going to allow that to happen.

"I'll go to USC's 'Rising Stars' camp and then probably Arizona's one-day camp too," McClure said. "It's got to be within driving distance for me because I just can't afford to do it with my schedule and how much it costs right now."

As a key component on a team that went 10-3 last fall, McClure posted over 40 tackles and two interceptions from his corner position while hauling in 35 catches for nearly 500 yards and four touchdowns on offense.

We'll check back in with McClure in the coming weeks and update things when he sets up his official visit to Washington.
