Ekpre-Olomu will visit Washington this summer

One of the fastest risers on many recruiting boards this spring has been Chino Hills (Ca.) CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu. The talented corner can play bump-and-run or cover-two with equal effectiveness and that led Washington to extend an offer at the beginning of the month. Now, the talented cover man said he wants to visit Montlake to see what the buzz about the Dawgs is all about…

"Washington offered me close to a month ago," Ekpre-Olomu told Dawgman.com recently. "Coach (Demetrice) Martin is the coach recruiting me for them and I've spoken to coach (Steve) Sarkisian once.

"They are a school I really want to know more about. They've told me a few things about the program and I know they're in the Pac 10. What really made them stand out to me was them beating USC last year on that last-second field goal after they were 0-12 the year before.

"I think they have some really interesting things going on up there (in Seattle), but I need to check them out a little more and I'll probably visit Washington along with Oregon this summer at some point."

In addition to his visit to see the Huskies and Ducks, Ekpre-Olomu said he plans to take in Arizona State's camp as well as UCLA and USC's camps.

"I just want to get out and compete," Ekpre-Olomu said matter-of-factly. "I like to face off against the best I can play against and work hard. I like learning new things, new techniques and things like that."

Ekpre-Olomu said he plans to make a decision sometime before his senior season gets underway and knows what he's looking for in a program.

"I'm just looking for an overall feel and comfort level," Ekpre-Olomu said. "I want to see how I bond with the coaches and the players and how it feels when I'm on campus and can I spend the next four years of my life there.

"I also am real high on my education, but I think you can get a good education almost anywhere. Mostly I want a good school and a good football atmosphere."
