Huskies offer Finau

One player rising up recruiting boards right now is Juanita (Kirkland, Wa.) TE/DE Jarett Finau. He's camped at several schools and received offers after each one and on Sunday he hauled in his sixth following Washington's OL/DL camp. caught up with Finau after he returned home and he updated us on how things went...

"I was at camp last weekend for the Skills camp and then I was at the one today," Finau told "I felt like this camp went really, really well for me and the coaches really seemed to like me.

"After we left, we got on the phone with the coaches and coach (Steve) Sarkisian told me they were offering me."

Even though offers have come in from BYU, Washington State, Arizona, Hawaii and Utah State, Finau said the offer from the Dawgs meant quite a bit.

"It pretty much blew my mind," Finau said. "I was so thankful to get it and I really liked working out for coach (Nick) Holt and coach (Johnny Nansen)."

While his team will head south on Tuesday for their camp at Oregon State, another school on Finau pretty heavily, Finau will head to Washington's Rising Stars camp in order to continue to show the Husky staff what he can do.

He noted that while the offer from Washington meant a lot to him, he's not close to making a decision.

"All of the schools who have offered me hold a special place in my heart," Finau said. "I'm going to keep my options open for now and just see where things stand at the end of the summer."

As a junior, Finau was a star on both sides of the line for Marysville-Pilchuck, but his family moved to Kirkland so he will be playing at Juanita this fall.

We'll continue to keep track of Finau's progress through the next few months and update news as it breaks.
