The Eagles scored a single run in the sixth, then added four runs in the top of the seventh to put a momentary scare into the Mountaineers. The big blow was a three run double for EMU's Ryan Arnett.

WVU however, got an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh to push the margin back to seven runs at 12-5. Eastern rallied for three more runs in the top of the ninth, but were unable to close the gap further as WVU held on for a 12-8 victory to push their winning streak to five. The Mountaineers were aided by five EMU errors in the contest.

In the opener, WVU defeated the Eagles 16-2 in a seven inning contest.

The Mountaineers are now 12-6 on the season, and face Eastern Michigan again tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. in a single game to wrap up the series.
