Road Trip

West Virginia guard Casey Mitchell is looking forward to the team's trip to Puerto Rico this week, but he understands it's business before pleasure.

"It's always like a business trip," Casey Mitchell said of West Virginia's road games. "After the games we might get to look around and see some sights."

The upcoming trip isn't an ordinary one-game, there-and-back deal. The Mountaineers will play three games in San Juan, starting with Davidson on Thursday morning at the odd start time of 11:30 a.m. Still, Mitchell knows that West Virginia must treat the games the same as they do any other contest, despite the locale and tournament format.

Mitchell also believes he is more prepared to help the Mountaineer effort this year after an up-and-down junior campaign.

"I have always had confidence in myself," Mitchell said. "Last year I had some problems with injuries and getting adjusted to Division I basketball, but I've learned a lot and I am a lot stronger this year. I am more confident this year."
