Under Fire

WVU quarterback Geno Smith knows he faces a big challenge from Pitt's relentless pass rush, and he'll have to make sure he makes good decisions while under fire for WVU to come out with a win in the Backyard Brawl.

Although the Panthers won't blitz like some other Mountaineer foes, they still generate pressure, which puts the onus on Geno Smith to help by making the right choices in WVU's scheme. Whether that involves finding a receiver quickly or moving in the pocket to buy extra time, he knows that he has to make the right choice, often under duress, in order for the offense to be successful.

In this wide ranging interview, Smith discusses the Pitt pass rush, Jock Sanders' preseason commentary on predictions, and the offense's lack of success in the second half.
