WVU quarterback Geno Smith threw for more yards than any Mountaineer signalcaller in the last 12 years as his team wrapped up a Big East championship with a 35-10 win over Rutgers.

Geno Smith, displaying great accuracy, completed 23 of his 28 attempts for 352 yards and one touchdown as WVU moved to 9-3 on the season. The yardage total was th3 highest since Marc Bulger threw for 419 yards in the 1998 Insight Bowl against Missouri, and the eighth-highest in Mountaineer history.

Smith was calm and cool against Rutgers' blitzing schemes, and was also a factor as a runner in the second half. He finished wth 11 carries for 57 yards, giving him responsibility for 409 yards of offense on the afternoon.
