Leadership Role

Kevin Jones wasn't "shot-hunting" in West Virginia's 68-64 win over Purdue, but he did take on the role of "go-to guy" as the Mountaineers rallied from six points down in the second half to get a huge home win.

Kevin Jones rarely, if ever, forces shots or looks to "get his" on offense, but he also knew that his team needed him in the second half of a tight defensive struggle with the Boilermakers. Jones hit two big 3-pointers to help lift WVU to its first win over a Top Ten team since last year's victory over Kentucky, and in the process may have established himself as a player that the Mountaineers can look toward in crunch time.

In this post-game interview, Jones discusses how he approached those late game situations, and the manner in which he and his teammates can approach games now that they've closed out some close contests with wins.
