Basketball Awards Presented

Sophomore Drew Schifino has been honored as the most valuable player of the WVU men's basketball team. The award was made at the Annual basketball awards banquet, hosted by the Morgantown Touchdown Club at the Erickson Alumni Center on Sunday.

Schifino led the Mountaineers in scoring from his small forward spot with a 20.1 ppg average. He was a third team all-Big East selection, and is on the second Mountaineer to average more than 20 points per game in the three point era. Guard Greg Jones was the first to turn the trick with a 22.3 average during the 1983 season.

Other awards included Most Improved - Duriel Price, Team Man - Josh Yeager, Best Defense- Jarmon Durisseau-Collins, Unsung Hero - Chaz Briggs, and Charges Taken - Tyrone Sally.
