Defensive Options

WVU guard Joe Mazzulla believes that there are some things that West Virginia did against Ben Hansbrough that it can also employ against Kemba Walker when the Mountaineers host UConn on Wednesday, but he knows there's one attribute Walker possesses that makes him a more difficult player to defend.

Joe Mazzulla gives a great deal of respect to the Huskies point guard, calling him "the best in the Big East". However, some of the same things the Mountaineers did against Hansbrough, including cutting down on his penetration and not allowing him to step into his 3-point attempts, are also key against the UConn star.

West Virginia could also employ some zone defense to help cut down on UConn's penetration and negate Walker's speed advantage, which often helps him turn the corner off screens and get into the lane.

In this interview, Mazzulla discusses the different tactics West Virginia will have to use in order to keep the Huskies under control.
