Strong Finish

Kevin Jones certainly hasn't played badly during his junior season -- he simply, in the words of Bob Huggins, hasn't made many shots. So it was really gratifying to see the selfless junior his a key shot and grab two huge rebounds to seal WVU's win over UConn.

No one has been more bothered by his streaky shooting than Kevin Jones himself, and after a first half in which he made just one of six tries against the Huskies, he was feeling a bit down. Buoyed by his teammates, he came out and made all five of his second half attempts, including a putback of a John Flowers miss that gave the Mountaineers a five-point lead with 1:38 to play.

Sandwiched around that score was a pair of huge defensive rebounds that prevented second chances for UConn and sealed a double-double.

In these post-game comments, Jones discusses his play in the late going and offers his views on WVU's outstanding defensive effort.
