Rine Named Player of the Week

WVU outfielder Jarod Rine earned Big East co-player of the week honors for his performance during the week of April 14-20.

Rine, a junior centerfielder from Moundsville, W. Va., led the Mountaineers to a 2-0 record in Big East conference games last week.

Rine was 5-for-9 (.556) with four RBI and two home runs during the week. He had a three-run home run in the first game of a doubleheader against Virginia Tech, and in the second game he hit what turned out to be the game-winning homer in a 3-1 victory. He currently ranks second on the team with a .413 batting average and has a seven-game hitting streak.

This is the second player of the week honor for WVU. Kurtis Clinton previous won the award for the week preceeding March 1.
