Flurry Continues

The Orlando Sun Sentinel has reported that Seminole High School wide receiver Ray Martin has committed to West Virginia, continuing a run of pledges to the Mountaineer program.

With offers from more than a dozen schools, Ray Martin had the chance to play at a wide variety of institutions, but in the end he decided that West Virginia, which offered him early in the recruiting process, was the best school for him. According to the Sun Sentinel, North Carolina's recent NCAA violations and firing of head coach Butch Davis removed the Tar Heels from his final three, leaving him to choose between the Mountaineers and Iowa.

A 5-11 receiver with blazing speed, Martin earned all-county honors as a junior while catching 41 balls for 489 yards and five scores.

West Virginia has now grabbed five commitments in the past three days, and now has 17 on its 2012 football verbal list
