The Rochester, N.Y., native scored the first goal of the season for the Mountaineers, a header at No. 10 Virginia on Friday. She is the first Mountaineer defender to net the season-opening goal since Lisa Zanti scored against Michigan State in 2003. The goal was the ninth of Henderson's career. Yesterday, Henderson helped the defense record its first shutout of the season in a 3-0 win over Big Ten foe Purdue. The back line held Purdue's offense to only two shots for the game – first time since August 2008 holding a team to two shots or less.
