Junior On Board

West Virginia still has two spots open in its basketball recruiting class of 2012, but it went one step beyond to get a commitment in the Class of 2013 on Thursday night.

Nathan Adrian, a junior at Morgantown (W. Va.) High School, committed to the Mountaineer program after receiving an offer on Thursday. Adrian is very familiar with his hometown school, and has played in AAU events on campus. He was part of a four-player group that made an unofficial visit to WVU last weekend, and received an offer during his time with the coaching staff. On Thursday night, he made the decision to accept and verbally committed to the coaching staff.

"It is just incredible," his father, Kevin Adrian, said in confirming the commitment. "He is thrilled with it all, and we think it's a great privilege that he will be a part of a program like West Virginia's. We're just on Cloud 9."

Adrian also had interest from Wake Forest and Virginia Tech, among others.

BlueGoldNews.com will have more with Adrian later today.
