Women Overwhelm YSU

West Virginia's women's team frustrated Youngstown defensively and rode Taylor Palmer's 33 points in scoring an 69-37 win in its opener on Friday afternoon.

Palmer, a sophomore guard from Mt. Vernon, N.Y., poured in eight three-pointers and made 12 of 23 shots overall. Christal Caldwell added added 15 points and Ayana "Yaya" Dunning collected 15 rebounds in the victory.

WVU held the Penguins to 19% shooting from the field and allowed just 15 first half points.
