WVU Day Celebration in Raleigh

Start the summer off right with a West Virginia Day celebration, courtesy of the Research Triangle Park Chapter of the WVU Alumni Association.

WHAT: It's a Raleigh GIF party!!!! (TGIF - Thank Goodness It's Friday) Social event to meet and greet WVU alumni and friends and celebrate the anniversary date of the founding of the 35th state in the union, West Virginia, officially decreed a state on June 20, 1863.

WHERE: Rum Runners Dueling Piano Bar, 208 East Martin Street, downtown Raleigh in City Market on Moore Square. Rum Runners phone number is 919-755-6436.

DATE: Why, of course, on the birth date of West Virginia, Friday, June 20!

TIME: Private West Virginia party from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. in the back bar; we will have reserved seats up front for the dueling pianos show starting at 7:00 p.m. Anyone who stays in the club will not have to pay any additional cover charge for the night.

COST: There will be a $5 per person cover charge; this will pay for some light appetizers. All profits will go to the WVU scholarship fund. Enjoy WV Drink specials; school "shots"; sing along with the pianos to 'Country Roads,' WVU fight songs and others!
