"I know our fans will be looking forward to having the Big 12 schools visit Milan Puskar Stadium this fall," West Virginia athletic director Oliver Luck said in a statement. "This is a tremendous opportunity for our department, and the challenges ahead are certainly exciting."
A road game at Oklahoma State follows on Nov. 10, before the Mountaineers return home to host Oklahoma on Nov. 17. A game at Iowa State follows the next week, and the regular season will conclude when Kansas plays in Morgantown on Dec. 1.
In a separate statement, West Virginia released its nonconference schedule as well.
WVU will open the season against Marshall on Sept. 1. It has an off week before traveling to Landover, Md., for a neutral site game against James Madison on Sept. 15. The Mountaineers will host Maryland on Sept. 22 to end their non conference slate.
"I am excited about this year's schedule, especially since we will be competing in the Big 12," second-year head coach Dana Holgorsen said in the statement. "I am familiar with the conference and know the challenges that are ahead of us. Mixing our conference schedule with Maryland, Marshall and James Madison, the offseason becomes even more important to our preparation."
