WVU Gets AFCAA Academic Notice

West Virginia University has received honorable mention notice from the American Football Coaches Association for their graduation rates of football players.

WVU was one of only 31 schools to graduate more than 70% of their football players from the class of 1997-98.

Boston College and soon-to-be member Connecticut were the only other Big East schools to score at the 70% level or higher.

The study involves the freshman class from the academic year of 1997-98, including those who entered at that time but who did not receive financial aid until after their initial year, or who transferred from another institution and subsequently received a scholarship. Duke was tops in the class of 2003, graduation 100% of their members.
