Damian Nicholson, who holds offers from West Virginia and East Carolina, wants to see what the Mountaineer program is like first and foremost. That's why he set a visit to WVU's campus before any others. Although he has interest in Ohio State, Virginia and Virginia Tech as well as the two offers, he is excited to check out the WVU program.
"I don't have any other visits scheduled yet," he said via email. "I want to see how WVU treats me!"
Nicholson has been very interested in West Virginia since getting an offer from WVU last month, and already has some strong affinity to the program. He cites "coaching, closeness to home and the winning history of the program" as strong attractors.
Whether that's enough for a commitment remains to be seen. Nicholson said he has not set a timetable for a commitment, but has not decided either way as to whether or not he might commit this weekend.
Nicholson has talent as both a wide receiver and a defensive back, but it's as the latter that WVU is primarily looking at him at this point.
