A Year Wiser

Only a year ago, Aaron Brown was getting his first taste of college-level competition by competing in the Pittsburgh Pro Am League games at Greentree Sportsplex. This summer, he has the chance to compete with and against some of West Virginia's newest players in the same league.

Brown's SPK Law team fell to 1-3 in the league on Monday night with a 75-56 loss to Oliverio's Peppers. The sophomore-to-be had a relatively quiet night, with three points, a rebound and an assist.

The game saw Brown partner with his new Mountaineer teammate Eron Harris and a roster that includes Pitt's Talib Zanna, John Johnson and Chris Jones.

That squad faced off against the Peppers, featuring WVU's Jabarie Hinds, Matt Humphrey and Terry Henderson.

Before the game began, Brown discussed his progress since last season, his overall outlook on the team heading in 2012-13 and his early evaluation of West Virginia's newcomers.
