Partial Big East Football TV Schedule Announced

West Virginia has two games on ESPN, another on ESPN or ESPN2, and a third listed as a possibility for ESPN regional TV in the latest schedule announced by the Big East conference.

The Big East has released a partial schedule for its fall television lineup, including games on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and the ESPN regional network.

On ABC, three games have thus far been selected for air. Boston College and Miami will be the first two teams on the network, as the Eagles travel to Penn State on Sept. 6, while the Hurricanes host Florida. Syracuse will make its first appearance on ABC's "Championship Saturday", hosting Notre Dame on December 6. Additional selections will be added later in the fall.

Among the numerous contests slated for ESPN, Miami at Louisiana Tech on August 28 will begin the network's Thursday night schedule. It the second straight year a BIG EAST squad has helped kick off that portion of the ESPN slate. Three conference matchups have also been announced for ESPN. West Virginia plays at Miami on Oct. 2, while the ‘Canes travel to Virginia Tech on Nov. 1. In addition, the Virginia Tech at West Virginia game on Oct. 22 will be shown on either ESPN or ESPN2. More games will be added for both stations at later dates.

The BIG EAST also has numerous games scheduled for ESPN Regional Television. The BIG EAST Game of the Week package is one of the largest in the nation, reaching more than 33 million homes. Three games lead off the schedule in September - Louisville at Syracuse or Cincinnati at West Virginia (Sept. 13), UCF at Syracuse (Sept. 20) and future BIG EAST member Connecticut at Virginia Tech (Sept. 27). Several more matchups will be announced at later dates. All games broadcast by ERT are offered as part of the ESPN GamePlan pay subscription service.

Check the BIG EAST web site at www.bigeast.org for additional football television information, including station clearances for ESPN Regional (local and regional) contests. The remainder of the BIG EAST television slate will be determined on a 12-day or six-day advance selection process.
