It's no surprise to learn that of the 15 times West Virginia has completed 30 or more passes in a game, ten of them were engineered by Geno Smith. Five of those have come this year. Can you name the other three quarterbacks that have had at least one 30-completion game in their WVU careers?

Kansas State has scored in 196 consecutive games. That's the longest active streak in the Big 12, and the eight-longest in the nation. The last time K-State was shut out was Nov. 16, 1996.

Since 1990, Kansas State is 102-8 when rushing for more than 200 yards. West Virginia is allowing 113 yards per game on the ground this year. If the Wildcats top the double-century barrier, they will be very difficult to beat. However, if the Mountaineers could hold the Wildcats to 150 rushing yards or so, they will have a chance of springing the upset.

With a big day against K-State, Tavon Austin could become the career all-purpose yardage leader at WVU. Austin currently has 5,556 yards, and trails record-holder Noel Devine by 205. To get that total, however, he will have to figure out a way to get to the ball on kickoffs. Opponents have been squibbing and kicking the ball away from him since his big runbacks in the first quarter against Texas.

Wonder if anyone has taught Fox analyst Charles Davis how to pronounce "Holgorsen" yet? He repeatedly enunciated the name with a soft "g" during the WVU – Texas game.

The Big 12 has been friendly for road teams this year, and Kansas State is one of the teams that have helped forge the impressive road record for the league. The Wildcats will be gunning for their fourth straight road Big 12 win against a ranked opponent this weekend.

K-State won at No. 23 Texas last season on November 19 before defeating No. 5 Oklahoma in Norman earlier this year and No. 25 Iowa State last week. The last time K-State won four straight Big 12 road games altogether was over a stretch of the 1997, 1998 and 1999 seasons when the Cats won 10 in a row. Under head coach Bill Snyder, K-State is 30- 13 in conference road games when the Wildcats are ranked.

Since 1999, K-State has scored 84 touchdowns on defense or special teams. Since 2001, West Virginia has scored 33 such TDs.

Marc Bulger completed 30 passes three times in his West Virginia career, while Oliver Liuck did it once. The final member of the list is a bit of a surprise. It's not Jeff Hostetler or Bernie Galiffa or Mike Sherwood. Instead, it's Brad Lewis, who comleted 31 tosses against Maryland in 2001.
