"I'll sign again with West Virginia on Wednesday, and I'm looking forward to getting up there," Ronald Carswell said with Signing Day just two days away. "I just want to get back out on the field and catch the ball."
Carswell, who missed graduating in December due to an issue with one on-line class, is completing that requirement now, and plans to be ready to join WVU's team as soon as the semester is complete.
"I'm looking at getting moved up there early so I be ready to go," Carswell said. "I'm working out now with my high school coach and a couple of other people."
When Carswell arrives at West Virginia, he doesn't care what position he plays -- he just wants to get on the field.
"I've played mostly outside receiver, but I think I can do both," he said. "I know it will be much tougher match-ups than I've had before, but that's what it's about. I have to be good at winning those one-on-ones, and be ready to work when camp starts."
Carswell will get a chance to help replace the productivity lost from West Virginia's wide receiving corps last year. With next to no returning productivity at the position, there are plenty of snaps available for both returnees and newcomers, and he knows that he will have to be ready early to take advantage of those opportunities.
