Offer Flurry

West Virginia football coaches have been busy on the recruiting trail, extending offers to prospects all across the east. With a plethora of offers being made to rising seniors and juniors, provides a one-stop-shop look at each recruit.

Marcus Applefield has had a successful week, securing offers from five different schools. The latest offer for the 6-foot-6, 258 pound offensive lineman came from West Virginia. In addition to the Mountaineers was Kentucky, Florida International, Virginia, Purdue and Central Florida.

Overall, Applefield holds a dozen offers.

The No. 37th ranked cornerback in the country according to, Plantantion (Fla.) Chris Lammons, received an offer from the Mountaineers.

The three-star defender currently has double-digit offers from schools such as Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami (Fla.) and South Carolina.

Tarpon Springs (Fla.) wide receiver George Campbell picked up an offer from West Virginia on Wednesday. Even though Campbell is a 2015 recruit, the Mountaineers offer is already his 23rd.

Cosby HS (Midlothian, Va.) defensive lineman Tyler Powell received an offer from West Virginia on Tuesday, his 12th.

The 6-foot-4, 255 pound lineman followed that up with offers from both Connecticut and Boston College.

Class of 2015 McKinley HS (Canton, Oh) running back Eric Glover-Williams added an offer from West Virginia.

The talented running back adds to Mountaineers offer to a list that includes Tennessee, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan State, Nebraska and Ohio State.

Westerville-South (OH) offensive lineman Rob Dowdy has received an offer from West Virginia. He also holds offers from Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky.

"They're pretty close to one of the biggest offers I've gotten. I'm really interested in them," Dowdy told Scout Midwest Field Reporter Simone Scott about the Mountaineers offering.

West Virginia added themselves to the long list of schools who have offered Walton HS (Marietta, GA) cornerback D.J. Smith. A few of this other offers include Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Arkansas.

West Virginia is recruiting a couple 2014 prospects from Imhotep Charter HS (Philadelphia, Pa.), but their latest offer was to a 2015 running back.

Nasir Bonner (5-10, 180 lbs.) received an offer from West Virginia on Wednesday. The Mountaineers offer is his third, joining Connecticut and Massachusetts.
