Big Weekend

West Virginia is preparing for its biggest recruiting weekend of the season -- a Saturday night matchup against the Texas Longhorns. The Mountaineers are expected to host numerous prospects in the 2014 and '15 classes.

In preparation for the Mountaineers' important recruiting weekend, BlueGoldNews.com, examines visiting prospects from different classes. Whether it be a return trip or first-time visitor, we break down the top visitors for the weekend. Today we examine uncommitted prospects in the 2014 class who are expected to be on campus for the game.

2014 Uncommitted Prospects

Trevion Thompson
Position: Wide Receiver
School: Hillside HS (N.C.)
Rating:

BGN Breakdown: With a top six of West Virginia, Clemson, N.C. State, North Carolina, Ohio State and Florida State, the Mountaineers certainly have their work cut out in landing another wide receiver. However, despite some belief Clemson leads for his services, Thompson insists the Mountaineers are in solid shape. Having him on campus is huge for WVU as they hope to finalize the pass catching corps.

Donte Thomas-Williams
Position: Running Back
School: Hillside HS (N.C.)
Rating:

BGN Breakdown: Thomas-Williams recently told Scout.com that West Virginia and Florida State were his top two schools. The Mountaineers have made no secret he's their top target at his position. This visit is expected to go a long way in possibly securing his services.

Dravon Henry
Position: Defensive Back
School: Aliquippa HS (Pa.)
Rating:

BGN Breakdown: Henry, who is arguably one of the top remaining targets on the board for the Mountaineers, will visit West Virginia for the second time in three weeks. In what appears to be a battle between WVU and Pittsburgh, it certainly bodes well Henry chose not to visit the Panthers this weekend.

Darius Slade
Position: Defensive End
School: Monclair HS (N.J.)
Rating:

BGN Breakdown: Though both Michigan State and Nebraska have made a valiant effort to get involved in the running for Slade, some believe it will still come down to West Virginia or Rutgers. Slade, who visited the Mountaineers this summer, has openly talked about how he and his family enjoyed the atmosphere at WVU. This weekend should be no different.

Anthony Clark
Position: Defensive End
School: Buchtel HS (OH)
Rating: NR

BGN Breakdown: Clark has certainly had an interesting recruitment. The Mountaineers, who were once considered the predominant selection, reportedly backed off the talented defender just after the summer. However, Clark has made several trips to Morgantown during the season and the mutual interest is believed to have picked up again.

Darrion Hutcherson
Position: Tight End
School: Copiah-Lincoln (MS)
Rating:

BGN Breakdown: After receiving an offer from the Mountaineers a few weeks back, Hutcherson wasted little time in setting up a visit. A teammate of current commitment Edward Muldrow, the junior college prospect recently earned an offer from Indiana and interest from South Florida, Auburn and N.C. State among others. This weekend's visit could potentially end in a commitment for the Mountaineers.
