Eger Cuts Hair for Charity

After three years without getting a haircut, Pat Eger donated more than 10 inches of his hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths Sunday afternoon.

What started as a bet with former teammate Josh Jenkins quickly became something more to the former West Virginia offensive lineman. With as much community service as Eger has done as a member of the WVU football team, he felt this would be a great way to do one more great deed as a Mountaineer.

With his hair stylist Seth Gartin of Man's Image in Morgantown, Eger sat down at the players' lounge at the Milan Puskar Center and gave back in hopes of helping someone who needs it. Pantene Beautiful Lengths is a charity campaign that allows individuals to donate hair for women who have lost their own due to cancer treatment.

Hair donations are made into free, real-hair wigs and are distributed through the American Cancer Society's wig banks.

Eger's hair was put into a ponytail, which was cut by Mountaineer mascot Jonathan Kimble and then teammates Curtis Feigt and Nick Kindler and WVU football Sports Information Director Mike Montoro took turns before Gartin finished the job.
