West Virginia recently offered St. Petersburg (Fla.) wide receiver Ryan Davis. The four-star prospect holds more than a dozen offers from top programs across the country, including Florida State, Florida, Miami (Fla.) and Nebraska.
"I'm very excited to receive an offer from WVU," Davis told BlueGoldNews.com. "It's an honor and I hope to learn more."
Timber Creek HS (N.J.) three-star defensive back Kareem Ali announced his top eight schools via Twitter on Tuesday evening. In no particular order, he lists Michigan State, Temple, Rutgers, Maryland, Louisville, North Carolina, Pitt and West Virginia. Ali is hopeful of making a decision in September.
"A good friend of mine, Daikiel Shorts, goes to West Virginia. My family and his family are very close," Ali explained. He has no scheduled timeframe for his final decision.
The most recent Mountaineer commitment has begun to draw serious interest from a former rival of the Mountaineers.
Miami (Fla.) safety Sheldrick Redwine has reported an offer from Pittsburgh. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Redwine insisted he still remains committed despite the recent push from the Panthers. He hopes to set up an unofficial visit to West Virginia for sometime this summer.
The West Virginia coaching staff has begun showing interest in Charlotte (N.C.) defensive end Emmanuel Olenga. Though he's still searching for that initial offer, programs such as Auburn, Florida State, Michigan and Michigan State have joined the Mountaineers with their recent involvement.
The 6-foot-5, 234-pound native of the Congo hopes to visit numerous schools this summer, including WVU.
