BGN Video: Baseball vs Maryland

Ross Vance dazzled for the second straight midweek game as head coach Randy Mazey and staff appear to be pushing all the right buttons. Here, Mazey, Ross and centerfielder Bobby Boyd discuss the dismantling of Maryland - and how to avoid a drop-off against in-state foe Marshall on Wednesday.

Mazey, enthusiastic about his team's recent turnaround on the mound and at the plate following seven consecutive losses, delves into his thoughts on Ross, avoiding the dreaded "trap game" issue and what he hopes to see against the Herd after his biggest margin of victory in his nearly two seasons with West Virginia.

Vance, who wasn't quite as sharp as his first career outing against Ohio State a week ago, still mixed his fastball and change-up well, though he couldn't quite locate the latter and his offspeed pitch as well as he did against the Buckeyes. Still, the sophomore went six full, scattering three hits for just a run. Below, the lefthander talks about his approach and his ideas of perhaps pitching this weekend as well.

And finally Boyd, who hit a key three-run homer in the fifth inning, discusses his ability to pull the inside fastball, his approach at the plate and what has enabled him to be as consistent as any Mountaineer throughout this season.
