Forward Sean Lloyd plans to be on the move for his senior season in order to improve his attractiveness to college coaches this year. While he hasn't made a decision yet, he is considering prep schools such as Fitchburg, Hargrave and IMG Academy for his final year of play.
Lloyd is not, however, making the move for academic reasons, event though he has attended a pair of different schools (Imhotep Charter and The Haverford School).
"I'm already qualified, so I am really looking at them to prepare myself for college basketball," Lloyd told BlueGoldNews.com. "I'm looking at those prep schools."
Wherever he lands, Lloyd hopes to attract more interest from high level schools. He visited West Virginia last summer, and while he doesn't have an offer yet plans to return next month to learn more and renew ties with the coaching staff. He hopes to hear more about a potential offer then, to go with a number of mid-major offers and interest, including Bowling Green, Western Kentucky, Robert Morris and St. Joseph.
On the floor, Lloyd is an aggressive player who uses his body well. He attacks the rim with abandon, and can also pull up in the mid-range for floaters and jumpers. That's an aspect of the game that he is working on, but he counters that with the ability to take defenders to the basket and score off the dribble. He's also a strength on defense, and can check big guards and small forwards on the perimeter.
Lloyd said he remains very open in the recruiting process, and is hopeful that an offer will come from the Mountaineers when he visits again.
"That would definitely put them at the top of my list," he noted.
