Eighth Again

Not surprisingly, West Virginia was picked eighth in the 2014 Big 12 preseason football poll. The selections were made by 56 media members sho cover the league.

The Mountaineers, coming off late season collapses in each of the last two seasons, were solidly in the number eight spot, heading only Kansas and Iowa State in the poll. Both of those teams knocked off the Mountaineers a season ago as WVU failed put forth reasonable effort in the final two games of the year.

All teams in the league will likely be chasing Oklahoma, which was an overwhelming selection to win the conference. Forty-seven of the 56 voters tabbed the Sooners in the number one position.

Baylor got the remaining nine first place votes, follwed by Kansas State, Texas and Oklahoma State. Texas Tech and TCU were picked sixth and seventh, respectively.
