On Wednesday, WVU announced a home-and-home series against North Carolina State to run through the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
As first reported by the Charleston Daily Mail Tuesday, the Sept. 15, 2018 matchup will be played in Raleigh while the two teams will square off in Morgantown on Sept. 14, 2019.
"I am excited about this series, because it gives our football program and our fans an outstanding home-and-home series with a team from the ACC," said WVU athletic director Oliver Luck in a statement Wednesday. "WVU has a lot of alumni living in North Carolina, especially in the triangle region, so it gives our fans a game that is close. We have had a competitive games over the years with NC State, and this is a chance to restart the series.”
The announcement is the most recent of a long line of recent scheduling news for West Virginia. In addition to this home-and-home series, Luck announced a 2018 matchup against Tennessee in Charlotte Tuesday. The Mountaineers also scheduled another neutral site matchup added to the 2017 slate against Virginia Tech at FedEx Field.
