Thimons Commits to WVU

West Virginia picked up its first commitment in its 2016 recruiting class Saturday afternoon when Freeport Area SHS (Pa.) linebacker Logan Thimons announced his commitment to the Mountaineer program.

Thimons shared the news to his Twitter followers, saying, "I'm proud to announce that I'm committed to my dream school and will playing college football at WVU!"

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker received his scholarship offer from WVU not long ago as the Mountaineers were the first program to offer him shortly after performing well at a camp in Morgantown.

"I think them being able to see me in person one last time to make sure I was what they wanted," Thimons told BlueGoldNews.com after he was offered. "They didn't say exactly what they saw that they liked, but I know they definitely want me to play middle linebacker. They want me to fill that spot."

The Scout.com team will have more exclusive coverage of Thimons' commitment later this evening.
