Jeffrey Christian (5’10, 175 lbs) is being courted by numerous programs across the country.
“Recruitment-wise things are going well,” Christian said. “I’m trying to make the right decision at the end of the day. I’m just seeing who’s coming in and things to make sure I make the right decision.”
One program, West Virginia, has kept close tabs on the defensive standout and the interest level between the two is on the rise.
“I met with West Virginia awhile back at my high school and they’re showing a lot of interest,” Christian explained. “They want me to come visit for a game. They want me to come visit the school first and then come back down for a game. So they’re showing me a lot of interest.”
When analyzing the landscape of the schools involved in his recruitment, Christian is focused on a variety of factors. An important consideration is playing is a defensive scheme that would prepare him for the next level, something the Mountaineers definitely offer.
“Well, the Big 12 is an up-tempo, passing league,” Christian said. “I would love to play in the Big 12 and they [WVU] play a lot of defensive backs and freshman. It’s a big impact because that’s a lot of film I could have for the NFL. They [WVU] are also close to home and I feel like I could make an impact down there.”
All throughout his recruitment Christian has remained steadfast in taking his time, being sure of making the right decision. And while that continues to remain the case an offer from the Mountaineers could accelerate the process.
“I’m sitting on 13 offers right now and hopefully I get more but you can only go to one school,” Christian said. “The best school that fits me I feel like I could make a decision. If West Virginia happened to offer they would definitely be one of my top schools.”
