WVU Coaches, Players Recap Maryland

A last-second field goal lifted West Virginia past Maryland 40-37. Here, assistants Tony Gibson and Joe DeForest, along with wideout Mario Alford, review the win - and the building momentum for the Mountaineers.

First, DeForest, who oversees special teams, speaks to placekicker Josh Lambert's 47-yarder for the win, the letdowns that allowed Maryland back in the game after a 28-6 deficit, and the mentality to play the next play despite previous results as WVU picked up an enormous victory on the road.

Gibson, as proud of a defense as he has ever been - especially over the last seven drives when WVU stonewalled the Terps for the most part - delves into his ideals on UM quarterback C.J. Brown, his blitz selections and the aspects that most need cleaned up prior to a night game meting against Oklahoma at Mountaineer Field this Saturday.

And, finally, Alford, he of 11 catches for 131 yards and two touchdowns, reviews his play, speaks to the developing Mountaineer offense (108 plays, 694 yards) and the team mentality after a significant road win that should, even with the way it developed, boost confidence heading into the Big 12 slate.
