More WVU-Maryland Postgame

There were big plays on both sides for West Virginia against Maryland. Here, receiver Daikiel Shorts and Jarrod Harper delve into their contributions in the Mountaineers' 40-37 win.

Daikiel Shorts, who played significant offensive snaps in place of the slightly beat up Jordan Thompson - who still returned punts for WVU - finished with four catches for 62 yards and a key 11-yard touchdown reception for a 37-27 lead with 3:53 left in the third quarter. The score halted building Terrapin momentum and came on the heels of Harper's blocked punt for a safety.

Harper, a 6-0, 207-pound safety from Frostburg, Md., has been a West Virginia fan all his life. Here, the sophomore, who had one solo tackle in the win and has become a solid special teams player, talks about his blocked punt for a safety to give the Mountaineers a key three-point edge at 30-27 in the second half.
