Hamilton Secures Big 12 Offer

West Virginia became the latest to enter the recruitment of Devery Hamilton, offering the talented lineman earlier this week.

Baltimore (Md.) 2016 two-way lineman Devery Hamilton recently secured his fifth offer, with the newest coming this week.

West Virginia became the latest program to enter the mix, catching the 6-foot-6, 260 pound lineman off guard.

“It came as a surprise,” Hamilton said of the Mountaineers’ offer. “I think I’ve spoken to one of the coaches once but I didn’t expect it.”

"I mean, I’m really grateful for the offer,” Hamilton continued. “I’m excited to keep working and showing the coaches at WVU what I can do on the field.”

Hamilton, who claims additional offers from Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Maryland and South Carolina, hopes to learn more about the Mountaineers in time.

“I don’t know much about them [West Virginia] now but that comes with the recruiting process,” Hamilton said. “I get to learn about the program and the staff and see how I like it. I look forward to getting to know the coaches at WVU throughout my recruiting process.”

Despite not having previously visited West Virginia, Hamilton anticipates doing so in the future.

“I’d love to go this season,” Hamilton said. “If not, I’ll definitely go in the spring for a junior day.”

BlueGoldNews.com will continue to update and monitor the recruitment of Hamilton, including any visit dates being scheduled.
