Long Makes No. 19, Commits To WVU

West Virginia received a commitment on Sunday, when Cincinnati (Oh.) linebacker David Long committed to the Mountaineers.

West Virginia secured its 19th verbal commitment for the class of 2015 on Sunday when Cincinnati (Oh.) linebacker David Long pledged to the Mountaineers.

“I will be officially committing to West Virginia University,” Long wrote on Twitter.

Long, (6-0, 215 lbs.) held more than a dozen BCS offers and in mid-June claimed a top seven of West Virginia, Kentucky, Louisville, Missouri, Illinois and Oklahoma. All except the Sooners had offered.

Long could play as a linebacker, but could also wind up as a spur or a bandit in West Virginia's 3-3-5 defensive system.

Long has visited West Virginia on two prior occasions, including most recently for its game against Oklahoma.

BlueGoldNews.com will have more in-depth coverage of his commitment, including analysis on his fit for the Mountaineers, soon.
