WVU Defense Answers the Call

After allowing three touchdowns on the first four possessions of the game, the West Virginia defense stepped up and made big stops down the stretch to help guide West Virginia to a victory against Texas Tech.

After the game, defensive coordinator Tony Gibson broke that the Mountaineers' final defensive drive. He talked about the unit's mentality as it blitzed on every play, saying he's "not the kind to just sit back."

Defensive line coach Tom Bradley was without both Dontrill Hyman and Christian Brown Saturday, and talked about the challenges that came with that. He said it was a "next man up" mentality and that Darrien Howard responded well to his first action of the season.

Linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski talked about the way West Virginia battled the entire game and mounted an important comeback.
