Quick Review: Miles, Williams Dissect Win

West Virginia's exhibition victory over Shepherd was always about the Mountaineers against themselves more than the foe. Here, the frontcourt-backcourt duo of Devin Williams and Daxter Miles detail the 109-60 victory, and note what needs tuned prior to the season-opener against Monmouth on Friday.

First, Williams discusses the overly excited team that played as poorly as it has in any practice over the first 10 minutes of the contest. The sophomore, who finished with 11 points and 14 rebounds, also talks about continuing to try and maximize the contest despite the lopsided score in the second half. Williams also notes that perhaps West Virginia needs to play an actual game to gauge the development.

Miles started Sunday and talked about maintaining focus, his penchant for insisting on inserting himself into whatever the starting lineup is in practice, and the current level of the guard play, and how fierce the competition is for playing time.
