Pegues Flips Commitment To WVU

West Virginia received good news late Wednesday night when junior college defensive end Xavier Pegues committed to the Mountaineers.

Itawamba (MS) defensive end Xavier Pegues verbally committed to West Virginia late Wednesday night, a few weeks removed from his official visit.

"I'm officially committed to West Virginia," Pegues told BlueGoldNews.com. "It was the best fit for me and my family."

Pegues, 6-foot-4, 270-pounds, originally committed to Iowa State last month following a visit to Ames. However, a recent trip to West Virginia left him feeling indecisive about his original plans.

“Family was first for them and that’s what I like,” Pegues said earlier this month following his visit. “I got a daughter and my fiancé is coming with me. It made me and my girl feel at home, that’s for sure."

Pegues held additional offers from Iowa State, California and Texas-San Antonio. He becomes the 22nd commitment in the football recruiting class of 2015.

BlueGoldNews.com will have more on Pegues' commitment soon.
