Carter, Miles in Early Comfort Zone At WVU

West Virginia freshmen guards Jevon Carter and Daxter Miles have made big plays early in their careers at WVU, and both credit the welcoming atmosphere and mentoring from upperclassmen as big reasons for their success.

Jevon Carter was attracted to West Virginia partly due to head coach Bob Huggins' defensive bent, which fit his approach to the game. Having pressed and concentrated on defense throughout his career, Carter found an early comfort zone at WVU.

Daxter Miles, on the other hand, revealed that he had never played in a pressing defense before coming to West Virginia, but also quickly found that it suited him -- once he ramped up his conditioning to match the demands of full-time pressing. Like Carter, he has quickly forged a place in the lineup, and is ever-ready to take the big shot when called upon.
