Iowa State Preview: WVU Coordinators

West Virginia's struggles on offense are obvious, aspect 1-A being turnovers. That area alone has caused considerable stresses on the flip side, where the Mountaineer defense has routinely been put in difficult circumstances. Here, the coordinators of both units discuss that issue and more in leading up to the regular season finale at Iowa State this Saturday.

Gibson begins by giving his thoughts on the penalties, the difficulty of playing defense in the modern game, WVU's pass rush in the loss to Kansas State and being able to get home into he upcoming contest at Iowa State. The coordinator also delved into the turnover issues, his unit's lack of being able to secure them, and whether the struggle on Mountaineer offense and special teams with such has put extreme pressure on the defense.

Dawson, whose offense seemed to spark with Skyler Howard at quarterback, talks about what allows the sophomore to provide such a boost, his thoughts after film review on the play of Clint Trickett, the reasons for one of the two interceptions thrown by the latter, and dissects the defensive scheme similarities between Iowa State and Kansas State as WVU tries to secure a winning overall and Big 12 record this weekend.
